Kia Neilsen

Each summer as a youth she lived on her grandparent's farm, riding and taking care of horses at their boarding facility, accepting any opportunity she had to be around them. In 2021, she graduated with a degree in Criminology from the University of the Fraser Valley. While in university, she worked at a locally owned pet-store, while also working as a professional show-groom each summer. Now after finishing her undergraduate degree, she has jumped at the opportunity to work as a vet assistant for the practice she has used for her horses for nearly 10 years. It is safe to say animals have always been and will continue to be a huge part of her life! When she isn’t working, Kia enjoys spending time with her horse Finnigan, taking her dog Mayo on adventures, or exploring the beautiful trails, parks, and hikes offered by the Lower Mainland.

Critters

Smile Team

All the staff pets are special, but these 3 make the team because they will greet you at the clinic door."CC' our clinic-cat, hit the jackpot a few years ago when she was abandoned at our back door. Between her heated window-bed, Christmas sweater, and eating, she is "filling-out" her role very well."Maisie", with all due respect to other K-9s, is probably the smartest dog you will meet. Dr. Ben's co-pilot on some days, and herder of the other 2 when she's in-clinic. Ask for some tricks when you come in, or teach her a new one in ~30 seconds. Just no laser pointers!"Molly"  is the senior of the group. While she won't win any math contests, she makes up for it in cuteness and companionship.
