Pro-Stride APS
Pro-Stride APS is a system that produces a concentrated solution of cells, platelets, growth factors, and anti-inflammatory proteins. This is done by collecting a sample of the horse’s own blood, processing in a special high-speed centrifuge, and collecting a specific part of the “plasma” portion. This plasma contains the beneficial components mentioned above, and is then injected into joints and tissues requiring treatment, reducing inflammation and pain.
Gastroscopy
Our in clinic Gastroscopy allows for visualization of your horse’s esophagus and stomach. This is most commonly done to check for the presence of ulcers on the stomach lining. Equine Gastric Ulcer Syndrome is very common in performance horses of any level, and horses under stress of disease or poor health. The signs can be vague, but the diagnosis is easy. Our portable videoscope allows for evaluation and recording of your horse’s exam.
Lameness Locator®
Accurate & Objective evaluation lets us determine exactly what is happening with your horse’s gait. Computer sensors give real-time feedback on how your horse is moving, the limbs experiencing pain, and the timing in stride when lameness is occurring. Lameness Locator is also an excellent tool during Pre-Purchase exams.
Soundness Exams
Soundness issues mean a painful horse, and down-time for your riding. Lameness is the most common problem we see. Getting a proper diagnosis through examination, nerve blocks, and imaging will get your horse on the fastest road to recovery. In-clinic or on-site, sport medicine is available for you at any time.
Digital Radiology
Digital Radiology is used for evaluation of bones, joints, and soft tissues. Our Xray images show up immediately and allows for stall-side assessment of your horse.
Digital Ultrasound
Digital ultrasound is primarily used for assessment of soft tissues such as tendons and ligaments. Diagnosing and monitoring injured tissue is key for treatment success. We routinely use our ultrasound for colic and respiratory evaluations as well.
Dental Care
Routine dental care is vital for the proper health and performance of your horse. Our dental services include oral exams, dental floats, dental X-rays, and surgical procedures such as extractions and sinus complications.
Endoscopy
Endoscopy allows for visualization of the nasal passages and upper airway. This is used to evaluate function of the larynx and assess the health of the respiratory system.
Acupuncture
Dr. Steve Chiasson is certified in Veterinary Medical Acupuncture, and teaches equine acupuncture across North America. This treatment modality is used for many conditions such as lameness, neck and back pain, colic, digestive disorders, wound healing, and reproduction.
Reproduction
Agwest offers complete reproductive services from pre-breeding evaluation and therapeutic procedures, to artificial insemination with estrus synchronization, Embryo Transfer, and pregnancy exams. Our Fresh and Frozen Semen AI packages are very popular. We also coordinate semen storage & international shipping.
Shockwave Therapy
Shockwave Therapy is primarily used for treatment of musculoskeletal problems. This includes common conditions such as suspensory ligament injuries, arthritis, joint related injuries, navicular disease, and neck and back pain. Shockwave has been shown to improve the tissue healing quality, and also has the benefit of quick pain relief.

We offer care for all medical conditions affecting your horse including colic, respiratory issues, metabolic disease, body weight concerns, and neurologic disease.
